Job: Young Talent Development Professionals

Job purpose

Rikolto Tanzania is looking for qualified young talent development/Agribusiness professionals to Support the Implementation of the Good Food for Cities programme funded by DGD, AGRA - Accelerated Innovation Delivery Initiative (AID- II), and Urban and Peri Urban project funded by UNEP. The interns are Young graduates who will be attached to the Arusha Rikolto office and project areas of Kilimanjaro and Manyara to support operations and program implementation and offer technical support to ensure the programs meet its goals. In this regard, Rikolto in Tanzania is giving young graduates opportunities to learn by doing through practical mentorships in the on going programs.

  • Supervised by: Good Food for Cities Coordinator

  • Geographic scope: Arusha, Kilimanjaro and Manyara

  • Salary: TZS 400,000/=

Responsibilities

The overall duty of interns will be to support operations on program implementation of projects in Northern Tanzania regions. Specifically, the interns have to perform various activities which include but are not limited to :

  • Writing program minutes and reports during stakeholder meetings, coordination meetings, and other program events

  • Support in monitoring and documentation of the changes/innovations processes in the business models at the Partner level

  • Support in Identification and strengthening business relations between Farmers and Business Development service providers and Buyer

  • Support data monitoring for activities implemented in the respective areas

  • Support in compiling all training attendances and payment forms during training and workshops

  • Liaise with BDS providers and ensure relevant and quality trainings are provided (conducting follow-ups)

  • Represent Rikolto at relevant stakeholder meetings and gatherings as directed by the Supervisor

  • Develop and sustain trust-based relationships with RIKOLTO stakeholders and Partners (e.g., Local government authorities, farmer cooperatives, private sector, and other key stakeholders.

  • Collaborate and work closely with M&E specialists to collect and synthesize all programme data and report accordingly

  • Collbaorate with the M&E office in conducting data analysis based on the need as directed by the supervisor

  • Monitoring of consultants to perform the following objectives: increase accessibility and availability of quality seedlings to farmers, improve the vegetable value chains from production to marketing, and improve nutrition through diet diversification and enhancing accessibility of nutrient-rich vegetables

Expected Outputs

  • Bring Tangible Innovations to improve program implementations.

  • Quality monthly reports shared with the program coordinator and supervisor.

  • Developed and strengthened business relationships between farmers and other system actors.

  • Documentation of business cases (Successes and lessons)

  • Quality M&E data are shared for decision-making.

  • Increased Good communication with program stakeholders.

Education and Experience

  • Be a graduate from 2021 onward.

  • Have graduated with either a Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Agribusiness management, Agriculture Extension, Co-operative Management and Accounting, Agriculture economics, Business Economics, or any other programme with the capacity to perform all duties related to extension, community mobilization, stakeholder engagements, Administration, Accounting, Finance, Marketing, Governance and leadership, Business and Strategic Planning, Entrepreneurship and other business issues.

  • Be a resident of /know the intervention areas (Arusha, Moshi-Kilimanjaro, Babati, Manyara) as interns will have to find their own accommodation.

  • Be a highly committed and disciplined person capable of working actively with different stakeholders.
