Consultancy to strengthen governance, management, and internal control systems of selected agri-food SMEs in Tanzania through capacity building, governance tools, and operational support.

Rikolto is seeking a qualified consultant to design and operationalize a governance and internal management strengthening programme for selected agri-food SMEs in Tanzania. The assignment will focus on improving organizational structures, clarifying roles and responsibilities, enhancing internal controls, and supporting sustainable growth through strengthened governance, management systems, and operational efficiency.
The consultant will:
• Conduct governance and internal management assessments for each selected SME.
• Develop or refine governance documents, policies, SOPs, and operational manuals.
• Design and deliver targeted training, coaching, and mentoring for SME leadership and staff.
• Support SMEs to integrate new governance and management systems into daily operations.
• Produce key deliverables including inception reports, SME assessment reports, governance tools, capacity-building documentation, and a final consolidated report.
