Call for Bids: Supply of Climate-Smart Agriculture Demonstration Kits, Biochar Ovens/Kilns and Community-Based Trainer Training Kits

Rikolto Uganda is implementing the Strengthening Climate Resilience and Market Readiness of Uganda’s Coffee Smallholders through Climate-Smart Agriculture and Traceability (SAFE_CSA Uganda) Project, funded by GIZ.

The project supports smallholder coffee farmers to strengthen their resilience, promote Climate-Smart Agriculture (CSA), improve traceability and compliance with the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), and contribute to sustainable coffee production while protecting forest ecosystems.

To support these activities, Rikolto Uganda is seeking experienced suppliers for the supply and delivery of the following:

Lot 1 – CSA Demonstration Kits

200 kits for demonstration garden hosts. The kits will support practical demonstrations on coffee pruning, integrated pest and disease management, soil fertility improvement, application of organic inputs and other Climate-Smart Agriculture practices.

Lot 2 – Biochar Ovens/Kilns

12 biochar ovens/kilns for selected coffee cooperatives. The equipment will enable cooperatives to convert coffee husks and other agricultural biomass into biochar for use in demonstration gardens and coffee fields, supporting sustainable waste management, soil fertility improvement and climate-smart coffee production.

Lot 3 – Community-Based Trainer (CBT) Training Kits

100 training kits to equip Community-Based Trainers with the tools and protective equipment needed to conduct practical farmer training, mentor demonstration garden hosts and provide technical support to farmers.
